About Yasir Khan
The Early Years
My name is Yasir Khan. Since the very beginning, I went to The City School, one of the best schools of my country. As far as I remember, till the age of 15, I wanted to be an astronaut, because one of my uncles worked in NASA.
At that age, astronauts used to be the “cool” people, thus fueling my desire to become one too. Those years, I also had a major fascination with science, simply because my dad was a mechanical engineer and my mom was a medical doctor.
It was at the end of high school that I started getting more interested in business. Although I always used to always hear that “being an engineer or a doctor was THE thing to do”, through my biased research, I somehow figured that it was the “business people” who ended up making the most money. That was a big enough reason for me to switch my focus to business.
In 2003, I got admission in Lahore University of Management Sciences and started studying Economics. After a couple of semesters, I realized that economics wasn’t exactly business, that it just contained abstract ideas and the fact that there were 15 answers to the same question drove me crazy. I switched to Accounting and Finance soon.
Even though I used to get top grades in all my courses, something just did not click. Even Accounting and Finance did not interest me.
Through a change in circumstances in 2006, my family moved to Canada, giving me more venues to “explore” my options about what I wanted to do in life.
Coming to Canada:
Migrating to Canada was exciting since it was a big change for me. I was given admission at York University, Toronto, where I started studying Finance (again).
Even though Finance had then started to interest me, I wanted to be known for something different. For that reason, I started reading biographies of people who were successful in many other, more unconventional fields such as domainers, CPA network owners, website flippers, Adsense arbitrage-ers and Forex.
The Forex Craze:
I will be honest with you. Since the very start, I never liked the idea of “going to work”. Now, that does not mean I was lazy. I just never wanted to work for anyone else.
I learnt about Forex trading from a friend of mine. Listening to all the hype, I decided to give it a try.
“What was there to lose?”, I said?
I reasoned that if countless other people were making millions trading currency, I could get a small piece of that pie as well.
Turned out I was wrong.
I lost my first $500 in the first month but I did not quit. I thought “there just has to be a code out there for me to crack in order to make tons of money trading currencies!”.
A year later, after losing a grand total of $5,500 (which was a lot of money for me at that time), I came to the conclusion that there was no secret code to crack, that the market was more or less random, that the banks actually had a vested interest in making you lose money (so they turn up with a profit) and that the foreign-exchange market is one of the most efficient ways of burning through your hard-earned money.
The Internet Marketing Craze:
With the currency trading not helping me become a millionaire, I wanted to try my luck in something different. In July 2008, I came across Plug-in-Profit website, started by Stone Evans. The sales pitch of the website conveyed this idea: Start a website for free, put in $300, make $5000 every month.
Being an Accounting & Finance major, I decided that making $5000 every month with only $300 down was a great ROI.
So I tried it out, and instead of wasting only $300, I managed to throw over another $5000 down the drain in 2-3 months.
Disgruntled, I decided to get rid of the PIPS website that I had built and started studying SEO, affiliate marketing and all the various techniques the “successful” people were using in order to make money.
I visited the Warrior Forum, spent thousands on internet marketing ebooks and courses, subscribed to hundreds of “free” mailing lists which were supposed to provide me the most coveted secrets and finally started understanding what SEO and online marketing is all about.
Quantum SEO Labs:
In February 2009, I decided to form Quantum SEO. The reason for doing so is simple. I was having success with SEO and internet marketing, and I wanted to help others out.
In the beginning, marketing this company was very difficult. I had to spend around 6-8 hours everyday (without taking the weekend off) in order to get it up and running. In the first 2 months, I got no sales and very little traffic. But through hard-work, I now have a steady stream of traffic to the website.
Fast forward 3 years and we now work with over 150 clients from 15 countries around the globe.
My fascination with online marketing:
First of all, it is important to know that there is huge difference between traditional marketing and online marketing.
The fact that you will always be able to find loopholes in search engines had always caught my attention. In online marketing, things change, and sometimes a bit too quickly.
Because there is constant change, there is more room (and more of a necessity) to try out new techniques, which leads to more possibilities of benefiting from such techniques.
No matter what anyone tells you, there is always a good chance you can out-compete commercial giants online. I have done so many times myself, although it had been more of a temporary gain.
However , in the “real” world, that possibility simply does not exist.
Combine all this with the comfort of working from home and the ability to outsource most of my work and you have a winning proposition.
My activities these days:
These days I am in the process of expanding Quantum SEO but I am working on many side projects as well.
I currently own over 400 websites in many different niches and try finding out new ways to promote them every week.
We currently have over 25 people working with us. My team consists of website designers and programmers, database managers, link builders, CPA network specialists etc.
It is a great experience managing my team and discussing new ideas and techniques with them.

Even though I do not have a crystal ball with me, I foresee a very bright future.
I recently graduated from the DeGroote School of Business in April 2011 and received my MBA degree.
But completing a degree is only a small part of the education. I am fully involved in managing my business and websites as we speak.

I am from India. It was very interesting to read about you. Although I am 7 years younger to you but I see so many similarities between you and me, like I also dreamed about going to NASA more or less till high school ( I actually wanted to be an astronaut..!). I realized it later that it was so impossible for me. I also had the Forex craze back in 2010 although I did generate $200 in profit by an investment of $100 but it was mere luck. I had no idea what I was doing. I quit it then when I was suggested that how quickly things can turn over in Forex. Great blog!

Just knowing that Yasir has such high aspirations for his life would be a discouraging thing for me because the fact that he is now an SEO guru would indicate to me that you have to be a numbers guru, or at least have that kind of patience to succeed in SEO. That is what I would have thought had it not been for the easy to understand SEO lessons he provides on this blog. One thing we have in common: we don’t like working for anyone.
I have heard about Forex trading, but I simply cannot afford to lose the little money that I have saved up over the years. I know better than to risk money especially in the stock market. You can lose your ass in the stock market. If you take your chances, you better have a surplus that you can afford to lose. You know what they say, “scared money don’t make money. In my opinion the stock market is not much better than sports gambling.
This was interesting and I am looking forward to reading more blogs like this. You have done a great job on this and his story was very interesting. I had no idea that you could do this with a blog like this but now that I do I am looking forward to reading more of them. Keep up the great work you have done you can tell you like what you do.
If you do a search for Forex trading, you will be inundated with a ton of search results. There are so many sites that facilitate or teach you about forex trading. I agree with one of the readers, you should have a surplus of money in order to be able to trade in the stock market comfortably. Otherwise you could lose your ass. Some people like Yasir are willing to risk money in the search for some better way to generate profits.
The first thing that one should know before Trading Forex is that it is done entirely online. There is no question of the cumbersome paperwork that used to be the case with the traditional form of stock exchange. It is also a very fast process and has a steep learning curve, so I would not jump into this kind of trading with scared money.
I never thought about doing something like this to get myself known but it is actually very effective I think now that I have read yours and have seen the comments left and the outcome of people that have visited your site. Keep up the good work you are doing a great job and I know this is something that you enjoy doing so keep it up.
I know a guy who had seen his account wiped out three times since he started trading currencies. Yet he still keeps returning to the high-risk, high-reward foreign-exchange market for more. Many people call it gamblingand he agrees. When you first learnt about the potential for investing in forex trading, you probably felt that was a good venture to look into. You did a great job on your post I have never seen anything quite like this before but I like how you did it and I think I might still the idea and do this myself. Would you mind posting what has happened sense you did this and put it out on the air for us because I know there are more people like me that are curious how it worked and the results.
The craze for Forex trading in many parts of the world is beyond imagination. If you are really keen on making money, you should think about getting a stake in the trading business. And these days, apart from the conventional stock market trading, it has not only become fashionable but also very profitable to try out Forex Trading Systems. However, I do not think you should do it if you are playing with scared money. You do not want to wind up broke and suicidal.
I am going to send this post to my son, he doesn’t like the idea of going to work either and I don’t even think he wants to run his own business. So I am hoping that your story will inspire him to get off his butt and make something of himself. He is planning on getting married and doesn’t have a job to support them yet, what else can I do?
Telling your story like this has been a real inspiration to me and I am looking forward to doing something about my life now. I am like you were I don’t want to work for the other guy and this is something that is going to help me not have to anymore. That is certainly an impressive background that Yasir has. I think that his background has something to do with his determination to try out forex trading. This is intimidating to me. I do not think I can drive myself to risk money in any form of the stock market. I just have seen too many cases of persons losing their ass and I don’t want to lose any money.
What I know about forex trading is that if you’re talking about trading news spikes, unless you understand the underlying economics is pretty risky. Safe is not quite the operative term here but the expected relative impact. I hear that rright now any news from the Eurozone are huge market movers. About a month ago it was all about “sequester” in the US. follow the progress on major economic and political happening, but beware of NFP and ECB.
It sounds like you have been very successful in the line of work you decided to go into and the fact that you strove to be your own boss is a great plan and a very exciting one as well. I am graduating college this next year and your right I don’t want to waste the money I have spent on someone else’s company I want to start ne myself, thank you for the courage.
Unfortunately, many people can relate all too well with wasting time and money in currency trading. I don’t think this would be the first time a disgruntled day trader decided to research income opportunities in cyberspace. My father was once dabbling in the stock market before he took an interest in affiliate marketing. For that, he turned to me to help him because I had been a freelance developer for many years.
In my opinion, I would much rather take my chances with web marketing rather than the trading of commodities. You can lose much more money in the stock market than you can in internet marketing – unless you consider your time to be very valuable, in which case, you could wind up losing more money than you think because if you don’t know how to work smart in web marketing, you can wind up wasting a lot of time.
This was a very different approach to getting your face out there and your life story. It was interesting and encouraging and I am hoping to have my daughter read this and encourage her to get off her butt and do something like this as well. Thank you for the ammunition to do just that and please keep posting anymore information that you may have.
I certainly agree. Who among us doesn’t shutter with fear at the thought of risking money in the stock market. Commodities trading is Forex trading, right? Anyway, I really cannot understand how stock brokers make such a good living. I guess you have to have lots of money to understand how people can be so bold as to play the game in the stock market. The average income earner simply cannot afford to risk what little he earns.
When I asked my personal ecommerce expert, he said one huge trend in ecommerce will be the continued empowerment of the consumer. No one telling the shopper what to buy, when to shop and how much to pay. I guess it is true. Too many retailers are failing by not realizing that consumers want to do it on their terms. Time to give them the key to the car. Empower them and you’ll win loyalty. Have you noticed also that mobile apps that let you charge credit cards are becoming very popular?
Very interesting concept you have here and I think that this is a great way to post the information that you want people to know. Not to mention you have no idea how much of a inspiration you are by doing this and to how many people you inspired this way. Social media is a great way to get this infomartion to thousands.
